BJP Manifesto to Win UP Elections 2017
Question in detail
BJP's manifesto for UP elections 2017 is undoubtedly seductive and lucrative, but to the people only and not to the rival parties. The fear of BJP coming to power in Uttar Pradesh is apparently perceptible on oppositions' faces. A live example of this is: an unprecedented alliance between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress party, and/or incoherent paraphrases and recitations by BSP supremo Mayawati. Mayawati, in a conference held on Saturday, accused the BJP party of cheating the people through false pledges and fake promises. She warned people against possible withdrawal of cast-based reservation in the state, while at the same time appealing them not to vote for BJP. She said that BJP would withdraw the reservation if voted to power.
BJP's manifesto for UP elections consists of many seductive promises, notably where the construction of the Ram temple remains pivotal. BJP Chief Amit Shah, while releasing the party's manifesto on Saturday, emphasized to ensure the construction of Ram temple under constitutional provisions. To which, Mayawati counterattacked calling it just BJP's strategy to win UP polls. She further added that BJP's Lok Sabha promises are yet to be fulfilled, and party has no moral right to release its manifesto for Uttar Pradesh. It's been around three years since BJP came to power at the center, but just one-fourth of its promises have been fulfilled yet, she said.
All that the Narendra Modi government has done during these three years is to indulge in theatrics, sometimes in the name of fighting the black money while other times in the name of surgical strikes, Mayawati accused her arch rivals. She said that BJP came to power at the center riding on just false promises, and they are trying the same in UP elections 2017 as well. The lucrative promises are BJP's strategy to win UP polls, and nothing else.
Will BJP withdraw the cast-based reservation if voted to power in Uttar Pradesh?
