Imran Tahir in Rising Pune Supergiants in IPL 2017
Question in detailThe No. 1 ODI and T20 bowler Imran Tahir has been signed by Rising Pune Supergiant as Mitchell Marsh's replacement in IPL 2017. Marsh, who left India's Test series midway due to shoulder injury, will be cut off from cricket for around nine months. And his unavailability made Supergiant to pick up one of the unsold players, who registered for the VIVO IPL auction but found no buyer.
Pune brought in Tahis as Mitchell Marsh's replacement in IPL 2017. Marsh suffered a shoulder injury during the just concluded Test series against India and flown to Australia midway. His injury is diagnosed to be so much severe that he underwent a reconstructive surgery.
Tahir was bought by Delhi Daredevils in 2014. He played 20 matches from the side across three seasons and contributed with 29 wickets at an average of 21.48. After being released by Daredevils, Imran Tahir found no bidder at IPL 2017 auction despite carrying a base price of Rs 50 lakh. No franchise showed interest in buying Tahir apparently because most of the sides already have spinners in their roster. Even RPS had retained Australian leg-spinner Adam Jampa. With Imran Tahir in Rising Pune Supergiant, the franchise now has two overseas leg spinners in their squad.
Imran Tahir in Rising Pune Supergiant replaces injured Mitchell Marsh who underwent a reconstructive surgery last week. In the last IPL season, Tahir had presented Delhi Daredevils in just four matches. Pune decided to avail Tahir's services because the franchise was allowed the replace.
Is Imran Tahir a worthy buy for Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL 2017?
