South Africa vs India 3rd ODI: Winner of SA vs India Third ODI Match
Question in detail
South Africa vs India 3rd ODI match preview: Africa continues to suffer injury woes. They will move into the 3rd ODI without three of their key batsmen. While the side is already sweating over filling up AB and Faf's shoes, de Kock is the new addition to the list of the injured players. The southpaw opener picked up a wrist injury during the Second ODI in Centurion and due to which he has been ruled out of the ODI and T20 series. Faf, too, won't be able to serve his further participation during the limited-over series. AB de Villiers if recovers completely will be available for fourth ODI, but by the time it would be too late to comeback. Can the hosts win South Africa vs India 3rd ODI without Faf, AB and Kock? They can only if some magic happen.
India has a golden opportunity to script the history on African soil where they haven't yet managed a series win in any of the formats. Already 2-0 up, India would eye an unassailable lead in the six-match series. And to achieve that, they would adequately rest on their bowling department, which as of now has been phenomenal on this tour.
Kuldeep and Chahal, who complement each other's bowling, will again be capturing the spotlight in the middle overs. The spin duo has delivered the goods by picking up a joint figure of 13 wickets in two matches so far. The way they have bowled is just exceptional. Bumrah and Bhvneshwar, too, have put up a tight bowling display both in initial and death overs. If they continue to bowl like that, India will have good chances to emerge as the winner of SA vs India 3rd ODI.
Let's not forget the contribution of the skipper, who scored 112 and 46 runs respectively leading his side to the record wins in both the previous games. Dhawan, too, is looking in good touch with bat. Having unluckily suffered a run out in the first game, he came up with an unbeaten half-century in the second one. Rahane as seen earlier gives an added strength to the middle-order. He played a 79-run knock to ease off the chase in the first match. The rest in the batting line-up are yet to be tested apparently because they haven't got a chance to bat.
So, at the back of clinical performances both from bowlers and batsmen, India will take the field to keep the momentum with them. And the task is no big deal given Africa's injury woes. Kohli's brigade is at its best and can become the winner of SA vs India 3rd ODI without much ado.
